Braces aren’t what they used to be. This tried and true treatment method has seen so many advancements thanks to modern technology, and at Cool Smiles Orthodontics, we are happy to provide a variety of cutting-edge brace solutions to our patients.

How do braces work?

Braces use brackets attached to each tooth with a thin metal wire called an archwire running through them. This is all held in place by tiny elastics. To progress through treatment, we apply gentle pressure to specific teeth by placing small bends in your archwire.

Types of braces

At Cool Smiles Orthodontics, we offer three types of braces for patients of all ages.

Metal braces

Metal braces remain one of the most popular treatment options due to their proven reliability and effectiveness. Modern metal braces are smaller, more comfortable, and more effective than ever before. You can even customize the color of your elastics for fun!

Clear braces

If you want a traditional treatment with an aesthetically pleasing finish, we also offer clear braces. The brackets of clear braces are made from ceramic that blends in with the color of your smile. We can even give you a white archwire for added discretion.

Some patients choose to have clear brackets placed front top teeth and metal brackets placed everywhere else to get the best of both worlds since metal brackets tend to be slightly more durable.

Invisalign® clear aligners

Invisalign® clear aligners offer a discreet option for adult professionals and image-conscious teens. The clear aligners are virtually invisible when worn, and can be removed during meal times so you can still enjoy all your favorite foods during treatment.
